Maginnis (Charles D.) is born in Londonderry, Ireland.

Chales Maginnis emigrates first to Canada and then to Boston in 1888. Despite no formal training, he becomes one of the most important church architects in the city. He becomes head draftsman in the city architect’s office, then a partner in Maginnis, Walsh and Sullivan from 1898 to 1907. Maginnis dies in Boston in 1955.
